Central Portugal has lots activities to offer to keep you, your family and friends entertained while staying at River Cottage. Below is a list of local activities you may enjoy.
Archery - Fun for all the family
Archery is one of the few sports where everyone can compete or take part at an equal level.
Groups and individuals regardless of their skill level can have a go at hitting the gold with Archery instructor and former county champion ´Eve´ (a qualified coach, from beginner to tournament standard).
Archery sessions take place in the private grounds of their home in Coelhal located on the outskirts of Castanheira de Pera.
All equipment is provided and after a brief safety talk you will be guided in the art of archery.
Price €5 (euros per person)
Time limit 1 to 2 hours. Under 16´s must be accompanied by an adult

Tenpin Bowling in Pombal
Tenpin bowling is a sport that all ages can play
Cosy Bowling has 12 lanes, a bar (that also sells snacks) and separate games room

Club Bowling - Vila Nova de Poiares
Bowling, Disco, Arcade Machines and Pool Tables. Six bowling lanes, four pool tables and upstairs there is a disco bar which gets into full swing at midnight.
When you arrive the doorman gives you a small card (one per person) all games, drinks etc are marked on the card and you pay when you are finished. The doorman then checks and collects the card on exit.
Located in the Vila Nova de Poiares industrial area just off of the N17 between Vila Chã and São Miguel de Poiares.
